Beautiful Fish Lake is an intimate alpine lake set off Chiwawa Loop Road, about 20 miles west of Leavenworth. Aptly named, this 2.5-mile-long lake is stocked with several varieties of fish making it very popular with anglers. The fishing is really exciting here. The Cove Resort provides public access to the lake, with a boat launch, boat rentals, bait/tackle and several camping sites. Residents in this community love the quiet, peace and natural beauty this lake affords. While not prohibited, it is rare to see ski boats or jet skis on this lake. Instead, you will find canoes, kayaks and, of course, fishing boats. The lake isn’t deep which creates significant temperature swings throughout the year. Summer months warms the water to upwards of 80 degrees making for very comfortable swimming. Conversely, in the winter, the lake freezes and is covered with several inches of snow.
